How do I load value into my iPayu account?

Fully registered iPayu customers can load value into their iPayu cash account by bank transfer and then buy vouchers as and when they require them either by a manual transaction or as an automatic one. iPayu customers who do not have cash accounts must either have value loaded into their iPayu voucher account as a gift, by transfer from another phone or by buying the vouchers from any registered iPayu merchants excluding Internet merchants.

Do I have to spend all of the value of the voucher at one time?

No. Vouchers are just like cash. You only spend what you need to. The remainder is available for use at another time.

What happens if I do not have sufficient value In vouchers?

When buying goods iPayu will first use any Closed Vouchers that you have relevant to that merchant up to the value of the sale. If you have insufficient value in Closed Vouchers it will then look for any Open Vouchers that you have which might be redeemed at the same merchant and use as many of those as it needs. If you still have insufficient value it will use cash from your cash account (where one exists) or it may be necessary for you to top-up the value of your vouchers by adding cash to them at the time of the transaction. Unfortunately only electronic cash can be used in Internet transactions.

What happens if I lose my phone? Will I lose the vouchers?

Once you report the phone as lost or stolen to your network operator all text messages are blocked and no further transactions can take place. Additionally it is possible for you to block your iPayu Accounts via our website until such times as you have your SIM card back.

How much does it cost me?

Our charges are met by the merchants who pay us a small commission on each transaction. You pay the cost of the SMS message from us to you at 15p per message. The cost of the SMS messages from you to us is paid to your network operator at your normal rates.
